Thought- Pray so big and so often that when God meets you at Heaven’s Gate He says with a smile “ Kid, you kept me very busy.”

Scripture Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Insight: In day 37 of learning to apply biblical principles to our daily life, what we are referring to as Practical Christianity, let’s consider what it means to have a direct partnership and connection with Jesus through our prayer life which never ceases. I know it is hard to find time to pray. We are all busy. But there should be no higher priority in our life. Not because God’s needs us to pray, although he certainly wants us to and encourages us to, it is because we so desperately need it. It took me a long time to realize that nothing truly big and impactful happens until I pray. Mark Batterson in his book Chase the Lion puts it this way “On my own I can have a good idea, but when I pray I can have a God idea.” God ideas are worth hundreds or thousands of good ideas. They come packaged with the power of the Holy Spirit, wrapped in revelation and prophesy that can literally change the world. When we pray, we communicate directly with the throne room of Heaven. Let’s fill that throne room with the sweet fragrance of our prayers and keep God busy. He loves it when we communicate with Him. No prayers are stupid or unworthy. The only regret that we will have is when we get to Heaven and find out all the prayers that God wanted to answer for us, but we never asked. So pray without ceasing. God can handle it..

Pray for strength. Pray for protection. Pray for wisdom. Pray for health. Pray for your family always. Pray for financial success, not for your purposes but to help others. Pray for contentment and to not be needy. Pray for those suffering. Pray for our leaders and our Democracy. Pray for healing of the anger and hatred in this world. Pray for God to show himself to others on earth in and through your faithfulness. Pray for a generous heart and a kind spirit. Pray for equality for all human beings, God sees us that way. Pray for peace. Pray for joy. Pray for perspective. Pray for patience in an increasingly hectic and hurried world. Pray for guidance. Pray for God’s plan for your life to come to fruition. Pray for love, always. Pray for those who don’t know Christ, and for those who do but who don’t act like it. Pray for harmony among all people. Pray for reconciliation. Pray for redemption. Pray for new beginnings. Pray for forgiveness.

Prayer: Father God, thank you that you have given us the ability to communicate with you directly through our prayers. Help us to be diligent in our prayers and to truly believe you hear all of them and you answer in your perfect will and timing. Blessed be your name. Amen!
