Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Thought of the day- Think of a busy road or highway with no lane markings. It would be total chaos. Everyone would be trying to figure out the right path to go to avoid the other traffic with no idea of spatial awareness. This chaos would most likely result in terrible consequences for the drivers trying to navigate the road under their own interpretation of how they should drive. This is kind of the same thing that happens when societies and governments, in their lust for absolute power and moral depravity, kick God out of His rightful place at the center of a society. The chaos and weightlessness that ensues is palpable and leads to everyone trying to live life on their own moral compass, without the navigational stewardship of the Lord Jesus Christ. It leads to utter chaos and ultimately to some very bad consequences for us as the ravages of sinful living take their toll. I know this first hand as I spent the first 37 years of my life living this way. Was I getting by? Yes, but it was getting harder and harder to find the path to peace doing this life on my own terms. Christ came into my life and took me from chaos to peace as I learned to surrender to the fact that His ways are the best ways, much better than my own. Look at what is happening in our Country and in the World right now. It is crazy already and it is only the beginning of the chaos that happens when people try to tell other people about what is moral for their own political advantage and kick God out of the equation. God is the only and final arbiter or morality, not some sleazy politician who lies to gain an advantage over his or her opponent.
We are currently living in a time of moral relativism and increased humanism, when people want to determine their own truth, and trust in their own emotions and instincts to guide them. This is a big mistake. When we remove God from His rightful place at the center of society, we get chaos. Just like a road with no lanes, a society without God is chaos. Since the 1960’s when we started removing teaching the Bible in the classroom, and started kicking God out of the center of our society, we have been on a downward spiral as a society. Some people would rather have chaos than follow God. Their foolish pride is that entrenched into the depths of their soul. They are living life with a clenched fist towards God, and nothing will cause them to release their perceived grip on their life over to His control. Unfortunately, just like a road with no lane markings, this will not end well for them. God is the path to peace, joy and ultimately eternity spent in His Son Jesus’s presence and the Bible is the guideline He uses to teach us how to achieve it and the lane markers for how to best and safely navigate the busy highways of life. Everything else will eventually lead to chaos, both individually in our own lives and collectively as a society. Right now, we would be wise to invite God back into our society, recognizing our need for Him to save us from the moral decay that is ravaging our once glorious land since we kicked Him out. When abortions are considered “essential” and worship of God is prohibited, you can bet that tough times are ahead if we don’t change course in a hurry. Psalm 9:15 warns us that “The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.” God is a patient God, but eventually He will give us what we want. If we don’t want Him, then we have no one to blame but ourselves for the weightlessness and chaos that follows when we decide that we know better than God. Trust me from a guy who tried to do life without Him for 37 years, it is much better to invite Him in than to kick Him out!
