Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

ScriptureDo not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”- Romans 12:2

Insight: There’s lots of places to get information today, all you need to do is turn on your smart phone or your computer and the internet is at your fingertips, full of answers to all of your questions. But wisdom on the other hand seems to be in short supply today. Wisdom is not as readily available. It takes a pursuit on our part to find it. Mostly, it takes a hunger to know God and His Word found in the Bible better. It takes study and contemplation and prayer. It takes time. Many people are in such a hurry today that they bypass the time it takes to acquire wisdom, and rather settle for the instantaneous gathering of mostly worthless information, much to their own demise. Without wisdom, they get themselves in bad situations that could have been avoided had they sought wisdom to begin with. In fact real wisdom is knowing how to keep yourself out of situations that require it. Think about that thought deeply and try to apply it to your life. It has helped me a ton in my decision making.

We are in such a hurry, we often don’t stop to think about what we really need. We just want to speed everything up, thinking that speed will somehow make our problems disappear, or at least we will be living so fast that we won’t have time to think about them. But in most situations, speed kills. If someone is going down the wrong path, they don’t need motivation to speed themselves up, they need education to turn their path around. The Bible can provide the wisdom we need to begin to turn our life around. We do need to constantly “renew our minds” as Romans 12:2 says above, so we can gain wisdom for every situation, not to just try to speed our lives up so much that we blow right past all chances to gain real wisdom. In fact, in most cases, people need to slow their lives down. Technology has led to sped up lives, always on communication devices and little deep thought or contemplation. Slowdown and unplug from the grid of craziness. Let the Bible renew you mind and fill you with wisdom. Then you will learn how to “test and approve what God’s will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will,” and then your life will become better, much more dominated by real wisdom, instead of merely by information.
