Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”- Jeremiah 29:11-13

Insight: Yesterday we looked at Walls of Fear that may stand between us and our dreams and how we need to totally depend on the strength of Christ in order to overcome these walls. Today, let’s consider the metaphor of a doorway. Doorways can lead to unknown things being revealed on the other side, but we must take a first step and walk through the doorway. For today’s purposes, let’s think of doorways as new opportunities. Are you keeping watch for new doors of possibility to open? One of the toughest regrets in life is the regret of opportunities that passed us by because we didn’t act or didn’t trust the opportunity that was right in front of us. This is sometimes referred to as sins of omission, not taking advantage of what God had prepared for you. I know some of the biggest regrets in my life have come from when I didn’t act on something because I let fear of the unknown keep me from moving. But as Christians, according to Dr. Charles Stanley, “we can trust that if a door opens before us, we can walk confidently through it knowing that if our Heavenly Father is involved, he has a good plan for us once we are on the other side.”

The scriptures above from Jeremiah 29:11-13 are some of my favorites, because they give us confidence that when we seek God we will find Him, and He has good things in store for those who are walking closely with Him. God can bring new doors of opportunity from the least expected places, so this year we need to be aware and prepared to walk through those doorways when He presents them to us, even if we don’t understand or see it clearly in the beginning. I remember when I bought my first house. I was single and happy to be a bachelor and not looking to enter into any new relationships because I had just exited a long term one and the idea of being involved again wasn’t what was on my mind at the time. Little did i know that God was arranging His plan right before me, and my neighbor two years later would become my wife. It was a door He put before me, and I simply had to walk through. As Dr. Stanley says, “we need to be listening to God and living with our hearts and spiritual eyes wide open,” so we don’t miss out on any life changing opportunities, or doors, the Lord may be looking to open for us. In 2022, live with your spiritual eyes wide open. God has a way of bringing opportunities out of situations or from people we would never have expected.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You that You are always working on or arranging situations on your people’s behalf to help us to reach our destiny. We thank You that we can trust You even when we don’t see the opportunity that lies on the other side of a door. Amen!
