Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice?  Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me;  there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The  wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted. The Lord responds ‘Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” Habakkuk 1:2-5

Insight: If you read the Scripture above from Habakkuk 1:2-5 above closely you can see that Habakkuk is so frustrated with the world around him and all the sin and injustice that is taking place that he is literally crying out to God “where are you? Why are you letting all this happen? Why does evil appear to be winning Lord?” Well, I can honestly say that I have felt many of those same emotions recently in our present day world. There are times I have cried out to God “why Lord are you letting this happen? Why are our kids suffering in this pandemic and not being allowed to go to school or play the sports they love so much. Why are you allowing people to mock you and so disparage your name with their lies, and why are you letting people call evil things good and good things evil? Why are you letting people teach that they’re 64 genders in defiance of your Word, and that boys can “identify” as girls to compete in girls sports. Why Lord, why, why, why?” I think it is normal and good to question these evil things and to literally cry out to the Lord in our despair and distress at what is happening all around us. I think God understands and I know He hears our pleas. But the most important thing I must realize, as did Habukkuk when the Lord responded to him, is that God always gets the last word. God will not allow “evil to be called good, and good to be called evil,” ( Isaiah 5:20 ) forever, and God cannot be “mocked, for whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” ( Galatians 6:7 ) If we cry out to God as Habakkuk did above, and as we do today, we must also be willing to wait and hear His response. In Habakkuk 1:5 above the Lord responds to Habakkuk’s pleas by saying “‘Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” I believe God is saying the same thing to all of His believers today, that God is not unaware of the evil being done on earth by people in power, and that He has a plan to do amazing things. He has the entire world’s attention now and the global pandemic has frozen the world in place to a large degree. When God moves now, Billions will see and know that the Lord in Heaven has all real power and dominion and authority over the affairs of the earth, not some politicians or unelected bureaucrats. So I pray please show us your response soon Lord, for we are growing weak in the waiting for the chaos to be dealt with by You, who alone holds the earth in the palm of your hand. Come Lord Jesus, come!
