Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture-  “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11

Insight: As Christians, We must always take the path that requires the most faith. This is so hard though as it often requires us going against everything we feel is right with our eyes, and instead we must live by faith, as 2 Corinthians 5:7 commands “For we live by faith, not by sight.” This can be a source of great confusion to us, and to those around us, who may question everything about a bold decision we make to serve  the Lord, irrespective of how crazy it may seem. In today’s ever increasing secular world, this can mean looking foolish for our faith. It can also lead to a loss of friendship with many we love as they often will struggle to understand the hierarchy of our decision making process, which in simplest terms is full surrender to the will of Jesus. However, in these critical times we must learn to not waste opportunities to use the truth of the Gospel to influence those around us with the good news of what Christ has done for us and for them, no matter what the consequences.

But how many times do I wish I had an opportunity for a do over or to speak more boldly about my faith. Those missed opportunities still haunt me until this day! Through those experiences, I have learned a valuable lesson and it is summarized above in Isaiah 55:11 and it is this: “that God’s word will not return empty but will achieve what He desires and achieve the purpose for which it was sent.”

The problem has been and will always be when I look at my own strength and my own limitations and expect anything powerful to come from that. But luckily God doesn’t ask us to accomplish anything using our own strength but simply to be bold enough to speak the truth of His word found in the Bible, and let the power of those words accomplish His purposes. In other words, we simply trust in faith that He will overcome all of our weaknesses through His power if we are willing ambassadors to simply speak the truth into the ears and souls of those who are desperate for it, no matter how much they may protest. We may be persecuted for our beliefs, but it is far better than being tormented for long periods of time for the moments and opportunities we missed when we failed to speak boldly with the life changing truth of the Gospel. God’s word will not return empty, but we must first be willing to speak it. Are you ready?Praye: Jesus, thank You that You provide all the power and strength we need to simply speak the truth of Your word to those who are desperate to hear it, and let those words penetrate deep into the places where they can do the most good. “Your word never returns empty and it will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent.” ( Isaiah 55:11 ) Amen!
