Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

ScriptureThen he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.  Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.  The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”- Matthew 8:23-27

Thought of the day-  One thing we can be sure of is that in this life we will face trials and tribulations, John 16:33 says this when it states, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” That is certainly an appropriate scripture for what most of the World is facing right now. The enemy wants to paralyze us with fear. We can only find peace during a global pandemic and unrest when we look to God. If we look at our circumstances through our own lens, we will most likely be terrified. When we go through serious trials and storms in our life, it can feel overwhelming. This is especially true if we feel alone or if we lack a good support system around us.
Isn’t it interesting that even when the Disciples were with Jesus, no matter how many signs and wonders He had previously done for them, their fears would still overwhelm them to the point of despair? In the Scripture above in Matthew 8, Jesus admonished them for their lack of faith and then “He rebuked the winds and the waves, and calmed the storm.” Jesus was teaching the Disciples an even bigger point than showing His Godliness by calming the storm that’s raging all around them. He was teaching them that they needed to stop looking at the conditions around them from their own perspective, and start trusting in Him. He promised them and he promises us that we will never be alone. He is with us who call on His name during the storms of life. He is such an intimate and personal God that He is with us in the boat. He will not leave us alone. We may not understand how we are going to make it through the difficulties around us, but He does. He wants us to know we are never alone! He is with us in the boat!
