Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture-  “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

Thought of the day- If you have a porch light on in the middle of summer, and you live anywhere East of the Rockies, you most likely will have a large assortment of bugs and moths assemble at your light. They come out of the darkness and congregate at the light. They aren’t attracted to more darkness, they are attracted to light! The same is true with people living on the earth right now. If you turn on any media channel, or listen to the news, you will instantly be bombarded with darkness. Fear sells! People are scared, anxious and afraid right now. They don’t need more darkness, they need the light! People are attracted to the light in our lives that illustrates Jesus and glorifies God in Heaven. So how can we practically show them the light of our lives that best illustrates Christ?

How about listening to them? We have become such a confrontational society, nobody listens anymore. People need someone to listen to them. Another way we can be light is we can invite people over for a meal. People always respond gracefully to hospitality. When we go out of our way to show people how much we care, they will be grateful. How about we be encouraging? People are discouraged from all the news about Covid-19, companies laying off employees, financial hardships are real and they take a toll. We as Christians can be empathetic and encouraging, bringing people back to the promises of scripture and maybe helping to change the focus from the hardships of the here and now, to the promises of the there and then. This time is trying for everyone, even the strongest of believers. Let’s be the light the darkened world needs to see right now. Let’s scream with the way we live that Jesus is the light of the world!
