Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”- Colossians 1:15-17

Thought – The world sure feels like it is careening out of control right now. It has been a very trying time for sure. There is so much news to process each day, the Corona Virus itself is its own entity that is reeking havoc with life on the earth, and the divisions within humanity seem to only be expanding. Anger and hatred appear to be greater than love and compassion right now. But, underneath it all, there is a force greater than every other force that is holding all things together. It is the force of God and His plan for creation through Jesus Christ. Even when we can’t see it or feel it, we can trust that Christ is “before all things and in him all things hold together.” – Colossians 1:17

So, while it’s true that life is complicated, frustrating and down right  hard right now, it doesn’t mean it is hopeless. There is always hope because God is in control and He has a plan that far exceeds anything we could think or imagine. If Jesus wasn’t victorious over death and the grave, and if He wasn’t resurrected, then life on earth would be hopeless. But 1 Corinthians 15:20 promises that He indeed has conquered sin and death, and therefore we always have an eternal hope that is greater than our present difficulties. When things seem out of control, we must remember to find perspective in the truth of the Gospel. We always have hope and we can always keep things in perspective by trusting in the Gospel. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 helps guide us when it says “ forour light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
