Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.
Scripture- “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”- Matthew 9:36
Thought of the Day- The word compassion is mentioned 82 times in the NIV Bible. God is full of compassion for humanity as evidenced by His Son Jesus, who paid the ultimate price for our sin so we could be reconciled back to God for all of eternity. According to Dr. Charles Stanley, “the cross of crucifixion represents the perfect intersection of Divine Love and Divine Justice.” It’s where God showed us how much He wanted us to be with Him in Heaven that he had His own Son pay the price of our sin that was due us. Jesus paid our sin tab in full! Now that is compassion.
We are living in a time when many people need us as followers of Jesus, to share our compassion with them. As always, this can be with our time, talent or treasure. I am finding that so many people are riddled with fear right now, that simply providing a comforting word, or a kind gesture is very powerful. If we come across people with a need, and we have the ability to fulfill it, I believe we can reflect the very love of Jesus when we provide the solution. It is an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in a time when people really need it. God is full of compassion for us- let’s be full of compassion for those whom He puts in our path as well with a tangible show of affection by simply caring for those around us.
