Scripture- “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”- Roman 8:18
Insight: C.S. Lewis once said “Life with God is not immunity from difficulties, but peace in difficulties.” I think everyone would agree that this world is very difficult and so we need a proper perspective in order to help us find that peace. The scripture above from Romans 8:18 helps us to recalibrate our focus in order to give us a deep peace about the future hope we have in Jesus Christ. Because He conquered sin and death, we have great peace in knowing this is all temporary and our future is eternal glory. 2 Corinthians 4:16-17 further emphasizes our need for a proper perspective when it says “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” Just reading those words brings peace and hope to my heart. As we enter into the most significant week in Human history, when we remember all that Jesus did for us and the enormous price he paid to carry the weight of all of our sin and shame, may we find deep peace in what that truly means for us that call Jesus our Lord & Savior.
Prayer: Father God, thank You for the peace you brought us in Jesus. He is the only way to find peace in this broken and shattered world. Amen!
