Weather report from : Sunny and bright with an abundance of light, and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”- Ephesians 2:8-9

as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”- Psalm 103:12

Insight: As I wrote yesterday, iIf you’re at all like me, it may be harder for you to receive a gift than it is to provide a gift. I am much more comfortable loving someone or something than I am being loved. But when it comes to my relationship with God, He has really worked on me to freely and enthusiastically receive His grace. Grace is unmerited favor by God, freely given that is not deserved and hasn’t been earned by us. Thus, many people stumble over this truth, and find it hard to accept. How can God love us so much to save us by grace, through faith, as Ephesians 2:8 above says? We must have to work for it or earn it in order to enjoy it, right? We must have to be “good enough” right? Well actually, no. That is completely wrong. God does love us so much that all we need to do is have faith to receive His grace and believe that what He tells us is true: That Jesus died to forgive us of our sins ( John 3:16 ) and by His atonement we are made clean and set free by his righteousness. (Romans 3:25 ) All we have to do is “declare with our mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved.”- Romans 10:9

I think this is sometimes hard for people to receive because they know all the wrong they have done in their life, all the sins they have committed, and so they simply convince themselves that there is no way that this could be true. But it is true! He knows all of our sins as well, and that’s why He sent Jesus as our atoning sin sacrifice. So receive Him! Believe in Him and receive Him, and be set free as His love and grace wash over you like a cascading waterfall. His grace is the greatest gift we can ever receive, but it is up to us to receive it.

Prayer: Father God, thank You that You provide your grace that we simply receive through faith, in order to be saved and set free from all of our sins. We freely receive this unparalleled gift in Jesus’ name. Amen!
