Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.
Scripture – “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”- Ephesians 6:12
“ Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”- John 14:12-13
Insight: Many people right now can feel that something isn’t right in the world but that may not understand that they are actually caught up in a spiritual battle whether they know it or not. The battle is way over our heads, and is being fought in the spiritual realms between God and satan, as Ephesians 6:12 references above. People may not know this, but everyone can feel the effects as we see evil everywhere, and you don’t need to look hard to find out either, it is right in front of our faces. People are rightfully fearful, and may even be led to prayer for the first time in their lives, but it is important to remember that we need to pray to the One in Jesus Christ who has been given all authority to hear our prayers, and intercede before God the Father on our behalf. Praying to a rock, or some crystals or a statue may sound calming, but it has zero power to change your situation or any outcome you desire. The Bible is full of promises that when we pray in the name of Jesus, we have His power granted to us through the Holy Spirit of His resurrection. He understands our fears and He can help remove our anxiety as we depend on His power.
God has given His Son and Him alone all authority and dominion over the powers of darkness in satan’s army that are creating chaos on the earth right now.. Jude 1:24-25 says “To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. Ephesians 1:18-21 says,“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
Now more than ever we must understand the times we are living in. The battle between good and evil is real, and it is playing out all around us. God gained the ultimate victory over evil when He sent Jesus to die on the cross as payment for our sin, and then raised him to new life through the resurrection to be seated at His right hand of the throne forever and ever. But just like any war, many casualties still happen in the skirmishes that continue on for a bit, even after the war has been won. Be sure that you are secure in Christ, part of the winning team for all of eternity, and then depend on Him through prayer to guide you through the storms that are plaguing our world right now..
