Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

ScriptureFor God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”- John 3:16-17

Insight: Almost everyone in the world is asking the same question right now, no matter where they live, what’s wrong with the world? Everyone can see with their eyes and feel in their soul that the world is broken and going through some very tough times, including but not limited to, the global pandemic. But we know it is even deeper than that- it is a lack of respect for our own humanity at its core level. It always amazes me that the world complicates what God made so simple. God created beauty all around us and humanity was His prized possession. When God looked at all He had made, He was pleased, God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.”- Genesis 1:31

But humanity wasn’t satisfied with what God had made, and all He had given us, so we rebelled. We were led to believe by the enemy of our souls, that God was withholding something from us, and so we sinned. We turned away from His instruction. We simply wanted more, we wanted to be like God. Genesis 3 is the story of humanity’s rebellion, of not trusting God and in our pride and greed, wanting more. Genesis 3:6-7 is when humanity first became “naked” and when our sin separated us from God, “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.  Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” Instantly, blame and conflict came into the world and it has never left. Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent. We are still looking for someone else to blame for our “nakedness”in every facet of life. Just look at politics, which has devolved into nothing more than an ungly scapegoating and smear contest.

This rebellion is what has plagued humanity ever since and is how satan still leads billions of people to their destruction today with lies and deception. But God is the Creator of all things, and He had a plan for saving His prized possession. He sent His Son Jesus to fix it! Jesus is the conduit that brings us back into right relationship with God. He is our sin sacrifice and our lifeline. He paid the penalty of our sin tab in full, the one that we could never pay. He allows those who put their faith in Him to be able to live in the presence of God one day, because our sin has been transferred unto Him, through His sacrifice on the Cross. That is amazing grace indeed, the most remarkable act of love the world has ever known. Yes, the world is broken, but God has a perfect plan and is working all things out for our redemption. That plan is in His Jesus and He is on the move. Make sure you hop on the train now before it is too late. All are invited.
