Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.” 2 Peter 1:16

Insight: Our stories matter, and they need to be shared. We each have infinite value in God’s eyes, and He wants to use each and every one of us to help others along their journey. I was reminded by a story I heard on the radio just how important our stories are and why they need to be shared. When we share our stories, others may get a blessing or gain some wisdom or a new perspective in dealing with their own story. Stories may make an impact of hope on someone who is going through a similar storm in life. Stories allow for others to be impacted and touched with compassion to come alongside them and help them in their journey. I heard of a 3-year-old girl in Texas who was born blind and was preparing to go through a corneal implant surgery that may allow her to see for the very first time. Her father was asking for prayer for his daughter.  When I heard her story, tears welled up in my eyes. My problems suddenly seemed very small and foolish. I was instantly shifted from selfish thoughts to ones of prayer for this little girl. My heart went out to her and her family and I am praying still for God to produce a miracle like He did when he healed the blind man in John 9:25 “He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”

Thank God that story was recorded in the Bible and it has been passed down to give others hope who are blind that one day they may see again. We know Jesus can heal the blind, as he has in the past. 2 Peter 1:16 above talks about the importance of those who witnessed the majesty of Christ in the flesh on this earth and shared those stories as recorded in the Bible. Without that witness, we would have very little if any information on what Jesus actually did during his three-year ministry on earth. Share your stories! They are relevant and people need to hear them. You never know who you might bless. God is the ultimate connector of stories that make an eternal impact. Don’t be shy about your story- it may just have an eternal impact for someone you may never meet until Heaven.

Prayer: Lord, empower us to boldly share our stories with others. Our stories matter and they can be used to help others and bring healing, wisdom and peace. We pray for impact when we share our stories for others to be impacted in a positive way. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen!
