Scripture – “He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”- 2 Chronicles 20:15
Thought of the day- There are days right now when the battle seems just too large. The entire World has been turned upside down from Corona Virus to social unrest to outright violence and destruction that streams across our minds cinema on a daily basis. If you don’t unplug from the grid of media “fake news” and turn to the “real news” of the Bible and what’s really happening from God’s standpoint, you can be overwhelmed with despair. We are caught up in an epic battle between good and evil right now and we can feel so helpless to make a difference. But the great reminder in the Bible is that God is in control. The battle is His!
King Jehoshaphat had to be reminded of that when the encroaching army seemed overwhelming. The odds were stacked against him so far that he saw no way out. But God reminded Jehoshaphat above in 2 Chronicles 20:15 that “the battle is not yours, but God’s.” This is so important to remember in times such as these when lies are being spewed as truth, right is called wrong and evil is called good, and corruption is rampant in every corner of the globe. God fights our battles in the Spiritual realms (Ephesians 6:12) and God is dependable. If He calls us into a battle, He will never not bring His power and His will to accomplish His plan through us. Never! Jehoshaphat learned that and saw an incredible victory against all odds and I believe the stage is set for God to show His power on earth in ways we can only imagine. So come in all of your glory and power Lord. We need You now more than anytime in the last 75 years!
