Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”- 2 Timothy 4:3-4
Thought of the day – Can you feel the gridlock? It is all around us. Nothing much can get done anymore because of social media giving everyone a voice and making everyone an expert. All you need to do to become an expert at anything these days is to read an article on Google, the god of information in the 21st century. No one can say anything without a huge caucus of people disagreeing or shaming them because of different beliefs. We have passed laws to benefit the 1% at the expense of the 99%, such as allowing Transgender individuals to determine their sexual preference for which bathroom they use based on their emotions, or feelingst at any time, rather than on their actual genetic sex. What a mess. We are no longer a democracy or a Republic when people pass laws that work for the minority, at the expense of the majority. We are a Nation and a world that has lost all its bearings, because it’s turned away from the only true Moral compass, the Word of God.
We should not be surprised, as the Apostle Paul taught this lesson to his protege Timothy some 2,000 years ago in the scripture above. People are willing to be led like sheep to a slaughter to follow their own misguided beliefs, and they will surround themselves with false teachers that justify their false positions. Tell me this doesn’t sum up much of what is happening today: “to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” What is causing this chaos and gridlock? Most of it is a direct result of the media weaponizing people based on political beliefs. People have quite simply lost their humanity and have instead been filled with a hatred for those they disagree with politically. People don’t see “human beings” anymore, they see Democrats and Republicans. Children are also being weaponized by radical teachers on our College Campuses that are turning them strongly away from any belief in God. Joseph Stalin had a saying that if you give him a child for 8 years, he would give you back a Bolshevik for life. Unfortunately, that same type of mindset is permeating the educational system of our once great United States, turning people away from the only thing that can save them, or offer them hope, which is God. I pray for a mighty move of God to save us before it is too late. I pray for sweeping revival and a turning away from the wickedness and divisiveness that the media is propagating. I pray for repentance and a strong crying out for God to heal our land. (2 Chronicles 7:14) He is surely the only One who can.
