Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Thought of the day- I have traveled globally quite a bit for my job and therefore get to talk to many people in different places. I have noticed one common denominator in the places I travel irrespective of what Country I am in: people are scared and confused. Anger is rampant. They know something is wrong but can’t put their finger on it. Their immediate reaction is to blame someone for the fear they feel, thinking this somehow gives them some semblance of being in control. Usually it is a political figure they blame for the world’s problems or a system that has failed them. But what they are really feeling is the groaning of the world that is in bondage to sin.
Sin is the result of our collective rebellion against the authority of God to govern our lives as spelled out in the good doctrines of the Bible, which began way back in the Garden of Eden. The Prophet Isaiah warned of the consequences some 2700 years ago in Isaiah 5:20 of what happens when humans try to dictate what is good and evil to the Lord: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” So, as a result of our humanism and rejection of God, of us thinking we know best, the world is in decay and people can feel its effects whether they are believers in the Lord Jesus or not. No politician can fix what ails this world, only God can! What the world needs is a revival, a return to the Lord of the universe, not new political systems or ideas. God promises He wants to heal us and help the Countries of the world, but He won’t force us to turn to Him. He will listen to our pleas though if we earnestly seek Him and repent of our sins, as spelled out in 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” What this world desperately needs is more knee mail, not more email! Only the Lord can give people the peace they are so desperately trying to find in all the wrong places.
