Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” – James 1:22

“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding”.  Proverbs 2:1-6

Thought of the Day- I think one of the biggest challenges, but also one of the biggest opportunities, in being a Christian, is learning how to apply the words we read in the Bible to our lives in a practical way. The possibilities are really limitless, because so is the wisdom of God. In Proverbs 2:5-6 above God promises that if we search for His wisdom with a high intensity, He will provide it. Some scriptures that I have learned to apply to my life would include: When I am tired or life has me beaten down, Isaiah 40:31 promises the Lord “will renew our strength.” If we are unsure of a decision or which path to take in our life, Psalm 32:8 promises God will “instruct us in the way we should go.”  If we are feeling prideful and are worried about this, James 4:10 says we can “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” The Bible is full of God’s wisdom and He means for us to be able to apply it to our lives to help us through any and every situation we encounter. Real wisdom is found when we apply it to our lives to keep us out of situations that lead to unintended consequences.
