Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.” Psalm 107:6

“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.”- Psalm 107:28

Insight: Have you ever been in a situation where all your options run out and everything seems helpless? How did you respond? I have recently been in this situation with my elderly mother, who needs a safe place to live due to a recent fall that led to a brain injury, but she has been fiercely pushing back on all of our best laid plans in order to maintain her independence, but she does not have the ability to function independently. She is at high risk for falling again. So, for weeks we have been trying to find a compromise solution and we have reached a dead end.You can’t force someone into a place they don’t want to go, and you can’t let someone you love stay in a place where their own life is in danger because they lack the ability to function independently. Stressful beyond belief!

So, today I got on my knees and I fully surrendered this situation to God. I admitted I was at my wits end, in over my head, and I cried out for His help. Like Psalm 107:6 and 107:28 above, I cried out to the Lord for His help. I said I was unable to resolve this situation and I greatly needed His intervention. Amazingly, within five minutes a solution appeared. I was in awe. I know this isn’t how God always responds. He is not a Cosmic Genie at our fingertips to answer any request we have to our immediate satisfaction. But because He is God, He can do that at any time, and He did it today and it simply reinforced my belief in how amazing He is. We really serve an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God who loves us as His children and knows what we need before we even ask. So, I humbly say Thank You God, You alone are worthy of all of our praise!
