Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten rulers in a city.” – Ecclesiastes 7:19

Insight:  The whole world is literally drowning right now in a sea of information and knowledge, that is severely lacking in wisdom.  You can see people literally suffocating under the weight of too much information without being able to discern what is true. The World Wide Web is loaded with information, and Google can give you “answers” but only God can provide wisdom. This endless search for knowledge without being able to obtain wisdom is leading to gridlock at every turn, as everyone puts forth their own opinion of “truth” and leaves many feeling helplessly exhausted. This is why it is so important that we make God’s word as found in the Bible our own personal source of truth, which leads to wisdom, that can help us manage our way through the informational fog we have found ourselves awash in.

Why is it so important that we learn to apply Godly wisdom in our lives? Because without it we are destined for heartache and pain. We will never know how to discern the times we are living in and where God is leading us. We may think we know the best path to take or the best plan for our lives, but many times the inputs ( Google ) that drive our decision making are incomplete and limited at best and that leads to bad outcomes for us, filled with negative consequences we never considered. Why? Because we mostly view things through a selfish lens of what is best for us. Godly wisdom teaches us that in God’s kingdom, true happiness comes from focusing on how we can use the gifts God has given us to benefit others. I struggled with this concept for years, and occasionally it still rears its ugly head. Why? Because I thought I had lots of knowledge and in my knowledge, I knew the best plan for my life. Boy was I wrong. On my own, I had no ability to deal with the pain and setbacks that occur in this life. I had no ability to grasp why obtaining all the things the world promised would make me happy, only left me more empty. Only with God’s wisdom have I finally learned to surrender to His plan, which is the best plan of all. It is not circumstantial, nor is it unreliable. It is a firm foundation, filled with the joy and contentment that was so elusive when I was depending on my knowledge to guide my life. It also eliminates the fretting and exhaustion that accompanies feeling like you’re responsible for figuring everything out in a world that makes no sense. God’s truth will always prevail, even when Billions of people will still be arguing about the fact that they think God doesn’t even exist. Now that’s exhausting!
