Weather report from heaven: Sunny and bright with an abundance of light, and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Insight: As we continue on with our series on Practical Christianity, today we take a look at the ability of God to heal our brokenness and provide the wisdom we need to move forward in victory. God always wants to help us, and he has what we need for our healing, but often we turn to Him as a last resort instead of a first option. We all need His help! His wisdom can get us through any situation, or more importantly keep us out of situations we shouldn’t get into in the first place. Here’s the honest truth: No one gets out of this life unscathed. We all will encounter problems, loss and pain that can rattle us to our core.  A Pastor friend once told me a while ago that “only the wounded soldiers can fight in God’s army.” It is a given we will be hurt in this lifetime. We must be vulnerable enough to admit we are not ok. What is denied cannot be healed. We must lay down your pride and ask God to help restore us. His wisdom is all we can count on to heal our souls and our tired bodies.

Many I know are broken and exhausted. How do you feel in your soul? Away from the mobs and social media- how do you really feel? Have you been ignoring or rejecting God? If so, your soul is running on empty. Do you feel afraid, scared, exhausted? If so, that is normal in the year 2023. You need to be real with yourself and admit your way of life hasn’t been working. Running faster and faster isn’t leading to anything but heartache and burnout. Goals are elusive and now you realize that you have no control. Everything has come to a screeching halt. This could be God’s wisdom telling you to reset. In sports talk, you need a time out. Take time to be introspective and name what you want from your life. Time is the most valuable and precious of all commodities. We all need to pay close attention to what our souls are telling us about how we are spending our time. We need to carve out more time for ourselves and to be still. God’s wisdom can lead you back to recovery, but you must realize and admit you can’t do it on your own. You need Him. Here’s the best news of all: He is waiting for you, He never leaves you, and He never changes. He is the only constant and stable force in an ever changing and unstable world.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for giving us this wisdom we need to live a victorious life in You. We must be vulnerable enough to run to You and admit we are broken and we need You when things get tough. We all are broken in different ways and at different times. Thanks for always being there for us. We pray this in jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
