Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture – “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” – Romans 5:1-2

Thought of the day-  Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “We must never let our finite disappointments rob us of our infinite hope.” Boy is that message important today as we are all going through a myriad of disappointments in this broken world .No one gets out of this life unscathed. The truth is that we all go through struggles that make our life hard. We all have bad days that test our strength and resolve. But we must remain focused on the big picture as spelled out in Romans 5:2 above that allows us to “hope in the glory of God.” What is the big picture? It’s that God is still firmly in control, even in the middle of the storms of our life and the tempest that swirls all around us. It means that even when we can’t see the light in the middle of the night, it is coming in the morning. It means that He will never leave us or forsake us, and we do not walk alone.

Martin Luther King Jr. certainly had some tough times in his march for equality and desegregation. There was violence, hatred and pain at seemingly every corner. But his focus remained on God amidst all of the chaos. He knew his cause was just and worthy and so he put all his trust in God. It is what allowed him to be able to say that ‘we must never let our finite disappointments rob us of our infinite hope.” Is there anything that is trying to steal your joy and rob you of your hope? Don’t allow it to. Turn it over to God in prayer and trust that His shoulders are big enough to handle all of your pain. We must always remember that In this life pain is inevitable but misery is optional. We can make it through the dark days and deep struggles of our lives by focusing on God and His promises. Like the Apostle Paul, we can live above our circumstances (Philippians 4:11) and find a lasting peace that is not dependent on our external circumstances, but rather on the deep inner peace found in walking side by side with Jesus Christ through the storms of this life!
