Weather report from heaven: Sunny and bright with an abundance of light, and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

Insight:  Sometimes song lyrics can give us great hope and put things into proper perspective. The simple act of worshipping the Lord is a mood elevator and needs to be an everyday occurrence as a Christian. The fact is when we sing, when we pour out our praise to the Lord, we feel better. This week we will look at some of my favorite Christian song lyrics that lift my mood and reset my focus on the strength, love and grace of our God. Today, let’s consider some lyrics from the song “Believe For It,” by CeCe Winans. One of my favorite parts goes like this: “They say this Mountain can’t be moved. They say these chains will never break. But they don’t know you like we do. There is power in your name. We’ve heard that there is no way through. We’ve heard the tide will never change. They haven’t seen what you can do. There is power in your name. So much power in your name. Move the immovable, break the unbreakable, God we believe, God we believe for it. From the impossible, we’ll see a miracle. God we believe. God we believe for it.

I love this song because it reminds us that God can do way more than we could ever hope or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20) The lyrics in this song are so uplifting, because they remind us to get out of focusing on our limitations to fix a problem, or solve a dilemma but rather to remember the strength we have in God and in believing for him to do the impossible. He alone can move those things in our lives, those boulders that stand in our way, that appear to be immovable and He can break the chains that bind us, even the ones that appear to be too have too strong of a grip on us, like an addiction or abusive behavior, that appear to be unbreakable vices that we have turned to in order to cope with our pain and emptiness. God can fulfill the deepest longings of our heart and fulfill our wildest desires. Everything else will eventually leave us empty. That is why this is a triumphant song, a calling for us to “ believe for it” whatever that looks like in your life. God can restore all that has been broken, He can mend broken hearts and failed relationships. He can restore our finances and He can set us free from the chains that bind us. “Believe for it,” and it will be done. Ask Him and He will show up in a mighty way. I have witnessed this firsthand in my own life. He redeemed and restored all that had been broken and seemingly lost in my life, and He will in yours as well. The only question is, will you let him?

Prayer:  Father God, thank you that You alone have the power to move Mountains and break the chains that bind us. WE BELIEVE FOR IT! In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
