Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture-  “ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: “ 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

Insight: One of the greatest blessings of my volunteer service as a Shepherding Elder at our local church is to pray with people who are hurting, to pray for God to intercede in their situation. At times, admittedly the stories can be heavy and heart wrenching, and can be a heavy burden for those who are experiencing such pain, brokenness, loneliness, fatigue, addiction, sadness, hopelessness, anger, resentment and so much more. On my own, I would have very little to offer other than my own limited resources of listening and trying to offer suggestions. But the amazing thing is, time and time again I have asked and seen God intercede in these prayer sessions with His power and might, love and compassion, forgiveness and restoration, and turn these stories around. I have seen depression lifted by the power of Jesus’s name, shackles of bondage removed, hope restored. Sometimes, this happens quickly and sometimes it happens over a period of time, but it is awesome when we get to be a part of God’s miraculous ability to heal where all hope seems lost.

Just yesterday, I got to pray with a few people who needed real help for real life problems. I invited  the power and authority of Jesus’ mighty name into the mix, as Matthew 18:20 invites us to: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them,” and I watched as he lifted burdens and changed the countenance of the peoples’ faces. I saw people touched by the Living God right before my eyes, and His glory is something to behold when He sets people free. It left me in awe of what He can do and who He is. He truly can turn lives around, and He’s doing it on a daily basis. Then, this morning I was swimming in my pool and the song “Waymaker,” by the Artist known as Leeland came on, and the lyrics were such a reinforcement of that very thing I had witnessed and been blessed to be a part of yesterday. Some of the lyrics go like this: “You are here, touching every one. I worship You, Jesus, I worship You. You are here, and You’re turning lives around, I worship You, I worship You. You are here and you’re mending every heart. I worship You, I worship You Lord. You are Waymaker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness, my God that is who You are.” That is who He is indeed. Be sure to claim these promises as your own and let the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords bring you the healing that you need right now, in whatever area of your life you need it in. He shows up in a way that is magnificent, and He promises He  will turn your life around if you invite him in, and ask for His help. ( Matthew 7:7 )

Prayer: Jesus, thank You that You provide all the power and strength through the Holy Spirit when we pray for other people and invite You in. What a privilege to be able to intercede for others and to see You work to answer their prayers. You are the Waymaker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, and the Light in the darkness indeed! Amen!
