Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”- 1 Peter 4:10

Insight: We all have something to offer to others and there is nothing in the world that will ever make us feel better or more alive than when we do so. Why? Because when we do, we are in direct alignment with “God’s good, pleasing and perfect will,” as Romans 12:2 alludes to. We all have time, talent or treasure to share with others, and there is no lack of people who need to receive what we have to offer. Even if it seems small or insignificant to us, there is no such thing in the Kingdom of God. He can take our small acts of faith and turn them into huge Tsunami’s of impact that can change the world.

We should look at everything we have as a treasure that God has entrusted to us. He expects us to be good stewards of that treasure, as illustrated in Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”  If not, we become a bit like the Dead Sea, where we take in, but nothing ever flows out. Jesus has very harsh words for the servant who took the gold Jesus gave him and did nothing with it in Matthew 25:26-30: His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?  Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.  “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags.  For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.  And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

He instead wants us to be stewards of His love and grace,  to be like a cascading waterfall or a river like the Nile or Mighty Mississippi, flowing out to the benefit of all around us. We should have a pass-through mentality where whatever we are given that can benefit others flows through us to them. That way, we won’t become stagnant like the Dead Sea but instead powerful like Niagara Falls.

Prayer: Lord God, help me to see everything you give me not as mine but as yours, a gift meant to be shared with others. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen!
