Scripture- “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”- Revelation 3:20
Insight: I find the Scripture verse above from Revelation 3:20 fascinating. Jesus is literally seeking us! He wants us and loves us that much. He is knocking on our door and waiting for us to simply respond to Him, like we would to anyone else we know who was knocking at our door; Open the door, and let Him in! We don’t even need to pursue Him, which would make much more sense, we simply need to answer His knocking on our door. Most likely this is the door to our heart. He is inviting us into His loving arms from all of our pain, our bad decisions, our regrets, our frustrations, anger and fears. He is saying to us,”I get it, and I am here for you.” All we need to do is admit our brokenness, stop running from our past, and say yes to His invitation.
Another scripture that I think illustrates His desire to help us is in Matthew 11:28-30. It says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Amazingly, Jesus is knocking at our door. He wants to take all of our burdens and give us His rest. That is beyond wild in its magnificence. He is letting us know how priceless we truly are. Jesus is knocking. Will we say yes?
Prayer: Father God, Your love for us as illustrated through Your Son Jesus is truly mind blowing. He is knocking on our door and all we have to do is answer it, and invite Him. Amazing!
