Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.” Matthew 18:12-13

Insight: “When I was your foe, still your love fought for me. You have been so, so good to me. When I felt no worth, you paid it all for me. You have been so, so kind to me. Oh the overwhelming, never ending reckless love of God; it chases me down, fights until I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine. I don’t deserve it, I couldn’t earn it, still you give yourself away.” From the song Reckless Love by Cory Asbury. It struck me today when listening to the Song quoted above called “Reckless Love,” by Cory Asbury, just how truly amazing God’s love is. Even when we are his foe, He never stops loving us and chasing us down. He will do anything to bring us into His eternal family, no matter how long it takes and how difficult we make it. I spent the first 37 years of my life making it very difficult, running my fastest from God. I wanted nothing to do with any “religion” nor did I have time to listen to anyone who wanted to talk with me about Christ. I thought Christians were straight up weird.

But then, something happened where Christ simply met me where I was, He never gave up on me, and He brought me into His family. I was broken in Spirit, and He comforted me and raised me up. He taught me forgiveness and showed me deeper love than I could ever have imagined. The most interesting and unexpected part of becoming a Christian by far has been the personal nature of the relationship I have enjoyed with Christ. If you even said that to the uninitiated they would think you’re crazy, and I totally understand as I used to feel the exact same way. I am not sure even today I can fully explain it, I just know it is real and it is amazing. Jesus can be your best friend, your companion through life and the One with whom you can share every aspect of your being. I never found that type of relationship with anyone else, ever. His wisdom is so much greater than mine. His love is so much deeper than mine. My life is so much better now, full of contentment and less fearful. He will leave the 99 He already has in His possession, to fight for and to save you, as He did for me. Have you invited Him to do so yet? When you experience firsthand His reckless love, you will say it was the best decision you ever made.
