Weather report from : Sunny and bright with an abundance of light, and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”- Romans 5:5

“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.”- Psalm 52:8

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”- 1 John 4:8

“keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”- Jude 1:21

Insight: As I have been writing the last few days, if you’re at all like me it may be harder for you to receive a gift than it is to provide a gift. This was especially true for me at first when it came to receiving God’s love. No matter how hard I tried, it was hard for me to separate God’s love from my earthly father’s love, which was a very cold and distant relationship. In fact, I felt very little love from my father and therefore, I had a hard time receiving God’s love even though I know it is real and 180 degrees different from my father’s type of love, or lack thereof. How about you? Do you struggle in this area? I found that reading about His love in the Bible, which is abundantly clear and even overflowing ( especially in 1 John 4 ) is great but for me to really feel His love in a way that penetrates my soul, I need to spend alone time with Him and ask Him to reveal it to me in a 1:1 way. Just me and Him. I need Him to melt away the protective layers of scar tissue around my heart that were put in place as a defense mechanism for all the times my earthly father let me down. A lifetime of pain is a lot to overcome. But God can do it. He has done it in my life, little by little, and He can do it in yours. God truly is love ( 1 John 4:8 ) and His love is able to overcome all of our wounds from our earthly father’s.

I know it took me a while to believe this, and to receive it, but God truly cares and in His love I even learned how to forgive my father, which on my own I had never been able to accomplish. That changed everything, and freed me up from a lifetime of pain and unforgiveness, to a place of peace as a result of God’s unending grace and love. If you are stuck with the stinging pain of rejection or worse from someone you loved and place your trust in, only to be let down, I hope you will let God’s love in, so all the pain can move out. No self-help book or any other elixir can work long term. Only by learning to receive God’s love can you truly be set free.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for your unconditional love for us, your children,  which is endless and able to heal even our greatest pain. Your love truly reaches to the Heavens Lord. We are so grateful. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen!
