Weather report from : Sunny and bright with an abundance of light, and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture- “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”- Joshua 1:5

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”- Hebrews 13:5

Insight: As I have been writing the last few days, if you’re at all like me it may be harder for you to receive a gift than it is to provide a gift. However, there is one gift from the Bible that I find relatively easy to receive and that is God’s promises. God’s promises are numerous throughout the Bible. There are thousands of promises. He makes promises to Countries, especially to Israel, promises to leaders, promises to His followers, promises to His servants and to His prophets. God is a God of His promise. If He promises something, you can be sure it will happen. You can take it to the bank. So what are some of the promises that you and I can rely on? Here are just a few of the ones that can be most impactful in our lives when we learn to accept them as fact:

  1. God loves us unconditionally ( Romans 5:8 )
  2. God forgives us of our sins unconditionally when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior ( Colossians 2:13 )
  3. God will never leave us or forsake ( Hebrews 13:5 )
  4. That through Christ we have eternal life ( John 3:15-16 )
  5. Jesus has prepared a place for us in his eternal kingdom ( John 14:2 )
  6. Jesus will return to reign on the earth one day ( Revelation 22:20 )
  7. There will be a New Heaven and a New Earth where righteousness will reign and God will be with His people for eternity ( Revelation 21:1-4 )

I think it is important for each one of us to find and receive promises of God that speak to our own personal situations and to learn to not only trust in them beyond a shadow of a doubt, but to be able to apply them to our lives in a powerful way. For example, when I am going through a tough time, or feel threatened, tired or weak, I rely on Psalm 91:1-2 which says “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” The beauty of the Bible is how it speaks to us all in our own unique way, in our individual circumstances. the Bible is a treasure trove of promises and provides answers to some of our life’s biggest questions. Grab some promises and hold on to them tight. They will never let you down, for a promise from God is irrevocable. It cannot be defeated. It is immersed in eternal truth.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for all the promises You make to us in Your Holy Bible. Let us trust in them, for they are the solid ground on which we can stand. Amen!
