Weather report from heaven: Sunny and bright with an abundance of light, and lots of singing and rejoicing.

Scripture: “Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:25-26

Insight: There are 2 Kingdoms on earth that are diametrically opposed and they are constantly colliding and pulling at us: God’s kingdom is eternal, full of light, truth and love. It is a narrow road, hard to navigate, and won’t have much publicity. satan’s kingdom is temporary, and full of darkness, hate and lies. It will seem appealing, but its ways lead to eternal death.

The scriptures are full of examples of this battle and what it means for us as eternal souls living on this earth who are caught up in this battle for our eternal destiny. 1 John 5:19, Matthew 4:8-10 and this one below from 2 Timothy 2:25-26 are great places to start.: “Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:25-26

This is a powerful scripture because it helps us understand the need and urgency to pray for those we may disagree with or who may be hateful unbelievers in Jesus Christ. It is shocking to think that they are not even aware that they are being used by the enemy of their souls to bring destruction upon the earth. It is important to clarify that while all evil people are unbelievers, not all unbelievers are evil. Some are “good” people, doing their best in life to be the best they can be. The problem for them comes in this exchange recorded  in Mark 10:17-18  “As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Why do you call me good?Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.” So many who don’t believe in Jesus think that if there is a “heaven” then they will surely make it because they compare themselves to others around them, and conclude something like “well I am a way better person than them, or those people over there.” That is a powerful trick used in the enemy’s temporary kingdom to capture and destroy souls for eternity. He loves the comparison game. But God is “the Only One who is good,” according to Jesus and because He is holy, no sin can be in His presence, Since we are all sinners, ( Romans 3:23 ) that disqualifies us all, unless we believe in Jesus who has died in our place to pay our sin tab in full, and His substitutionary death (Romans 3:24-25 ) has become the only path to God’s eternal Kingdom. ( John 14:6 )

The battle for our soul’s is intense right now on the earth, and it is surely only getting more intense as we come to the climax of humanity that the Bible clearly prophecies. Ephesians 6:10-18 describes the intensity of the battle that is being waged in the spiritual realms between God and satan. As a result of this, there is a great shaking coming upon the earth, and I believe in the very near future. It will be very important to understand what is happening when this occurs and be sure that your faith is in God’s eternal kingdom which is unshakeable, eternal and firm. Everything else is shifting sand. Hebrews 12:26-29 spells this out pretty clearly when it talks about the coming wrath of God upon the earth due to man’s wickedness and prideful rebellion: ”At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens. The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,  for our “God is a consuming fire.”

There are only two teams and you need to be sure you are on the winning team when the shaking starts. The Bible is full of other references to God’s Kingdom vs. the enemy’s  kingdom.  The bottom line is this is a fierce and raging battle and the ramifications are being felt on earth today. God is love and light. The enemy is hate and darkness. We live in a world where evil is being called good, and good is being called evil, as Isaiah 5:20 alludes to. This is a wake up call for us. Be sure to know the truth and pick the side that will always prevail.

Prayer: Father God, we know that You are love, light and life and that You control the entire universe. Help us to put all of our trust in You, no turning back and no indecision. The time of a climatic event is fast approaching and we want to ensure we are on the winning team. Amen!
