Weather Report From Heaven: Sunny and bright, with an abundance of light and lots of singing and rejoicing.
Scripture- “He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. “-Daniel 2:22
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” – Deuteronomy 29:29
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” – Jeremiah 33:3
“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.”- Matthew 10:26
Insight: Look at these 4 Scriptures above again slowly. They are amazing! God wants to reveal great and deep things to us, but how can He if we don’t actively seek Him? God is the great revealer, but it is our job to seek Him. Scriptures are full of stories of God’s willingness to reveal previously unknown things to the Faith Warriors who were willing to ask him, seek him and trust Him above all else and the same is true for us today. Daniel was able to interpret King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, Joseph was given a vision for his life, Samuel was able to discern that David, the least likely of Jesse’s boys, was going to be the chosen King of Israel. These are but a few of the deep revelations that God provided to his people and that we get to read about in the Bible.
But the spigot hasn’t been turned off just because Jesus came to earth already. He still is willing to show us deep and mighty things. We must be active participants though, seeking after His own heart. We do this through prayer and meditation and when required fasting. We must ruthlessly eliminate all distractions when searching for God’s direction in difficult or weighty things and decisions. The mistake I have made in the past is when I have been able to discern something from the Lord, I mistakenly thought this meant the result would be quickly implemented. That was far from the truth. In fact, it is in the waiting, and in some instances, I have been waiting many, many years, that He has stripped away any pride, made it impossible to go forth without total dependence on Him, and also many times let me experience failure as I tried to move ahead of His will and perfect timing. This has been very painful, frustrating and even disheartening at times, but then I catch myself and realize I am in the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords classroom, and I am being taught eternal lessons. I am the student, He is the Teacher. I am the clay, He is the Potter. My job is to humbly learn to wait. It is not fun and it is not easy, but I can see how necessary it is because left to my impulsive self, I would be lying in ruins by the side of the road by now. So when I hear Him whisper “Be still and know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10, I best heed His advice.
Prayer: Father God, it is mind blowing that You are willing to reveal mighty things to us, flawed servants, if we will only seek you with all of our heart’s, soul’s, mind’s and strength. You want us to draw that close to you. My prayer is that the revelations would be used to help humanity and a world that is in all kinds of decay. I pray in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
